FROM PROBLEM TO PROMISE - BUILDING SMARTLY IN A CHANGING CLIMATE

SASBE2009 will be the biggest event in the European region on sustainable building and development before 2011. With our motto we aim at a positive, proactive approach to sustainability in the built environment, via different disciplines and on different scales.
We invite everyone – academics as well as private and public parties from the market – to join us in presenting solutions rather than problems at SASBE2009.

Over 250 abstracts were submitted for the scientific programme of SASBE2009. 17 November was the deadline for all scientific papers, permitting a few an ultimate deadline of submission of 1 December 2008. More information on the (sub-)themes of the scientific programme can be found here.

SASBE2009 facilitates a meeting ground for parties from the market that excel in the area of sustainability. Around the beginning of November the call for the Sustainable Industry Day was launched. Public and private parties are invited to present their vision, approach, projects and experience to the international audience on Wednesday 17 June 2009. An independent committee will make a selection of the best proposals, which subsequently may be presented during the Sustainable Industry Day. You can read more about this on iindustryday.sasbe2009.com.

IIn October the CIB Student Competition was launched. Finalists of this sustainability challenge aiming at sustainable solutions for buildings and urban areas will present their plans at SASBE2009, and the winner is – amongst others – awarded € 2.000. More information can be found on competition.sasbe2009.com.

We hope to meet you in Delft!
